Is every Paradise Bag truly one-of-a-kind?

Yes! Every Paradise Bag is unique as the top layers are hand-cut from individual sails and adorned with unique zigzag stitching and textiles.

How do I clean my bag?

Clean your bag the same way you would clean yourself: with soap, water, and a clean washcloth or rag. While any non-abrasive soap will work, we like Dr. Bronner’s due to their hippie-jams commitment to Mother Nature.

How do I keep the zipper happy and operational on my Paradise Bag?
  • Be gentle with your zipper and never force it closed or past a snag.
  • Keep your zipper clean. Rinse zippers with fresh water after exposure to salt water or to sea air. A quick rinse and dry will prevent long-term damage from salty air or water.
  • Lubricating your bag’s zippers is a helpful preventative measure. Always clean the zipper before applying any lubricant, as you don’t want to trap dirt in the zipper.  We like Bee’s Knees Zipper Wax as its 100% natural, non-toxic, and water resistant.
Where are b&g products manufactured?

ALL of our products are hand-shaped in California. This means that every aspect of manufacturing is done right here in the Golden State.

What size bag should I order?

Paradise Bags are listed by the length of the board that will fit into the bag, not the actual length of the bag. So if you have a 6’3” short board, order a 6’2” – 6’4” Paradise Bag. Below every available bag for sale, you will find a size chart with all the dimensions you need to ensure your board will fit. If you have any questions about size and fit, just ask! info@intoblueandgreen.com

Why do sailors retire their old sails?

Sailors retire their old sails for a variety of reasons. Sometimes they tear from extreme loads or coming in contact with hardware on the boat or mast, but often it has more to do with shape. Sails that stretch too much are unable to retain a critical airfoil shape, which has a major impact on performance.

Where do you get your sails?

Sailors, sail makers, yacht cubs, and sailing schools donate the vast amount of our sails. Please let us know if you have an old sail you’d like to retire. We would love to turn it into something cool!

Can I order a custom bag?

If you are looking to have us add your own fabric (perhaps to compliment a fabric inlay in your board) or to have particular thread colors used, we can definitely work with you. There’s a small fee for this customization. Send us an email info@intoblueandgreen.com and we’ll sort it out. Get creative!
We are not doing custom shapes at the moment. Please let us know if you want a size that we don’t offer and we will try to accommodate you in the future.

What’s the story with the company name?

Paradise is divided into blue and green is the first line in the song ‘In the Water there are Islands, in the Land there are Lakes’ by Mice Parade. This song is featured in the Process Video.

What is your design process for the Paradise Bags?

We try to let the sails dictate the design: most sails are made using a white zigzag stitch, so we complement the existing stitching with colored thread based on feel and mood.

After several rounds of prototypes, our litmus test for the bags listed for sale is when we like the finished products so much that we want to keep them.

‘Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.’

– Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Airman’s Odyssey
